Where Did Vinted Launch First?
Vinted was founded in Lithuania in 2008, meaning that Lithuania was its original market.
It then expanded into Germany in 2009 and Czechia in 2011, before entering several more European and international markets from 2013 onwards.
Has Vinted Ever Closed a Marketplace?
Yes. Canada is the main exception in the timeline.
Vinted launched in Canada in 2021, but the Canadian marketplace closed on February 12, 2024.
Why Do Some Vinted Launch Dates Differ Between Sources?
Some countries can have several dates associated with Vinted because of later rebrands, acquisitions or changes to how the marketplace operated.
For example, Vinted entered Germany in 2009, but its German Kleiderkreisel and Mamikreisel brands were not rebranded as Vinted until much later.
Likewise, Vinted launched in Denmark in September 2023. However, it acquired Danish second-hand marketplace Trendsales in March 2024 in order to cement its place in the Danish market.
Finally, whilst Vinted originally launched in the United States in 2013, it enacted a further push into the country in January 2026 with a marketing campaign in New York.
The dates in this timeline refer to when Vinted first launched or established its marketplace in each country.
Is Vinted Still Expanding?
Yes. Vinted has continued to enter new markets in recent years.
Croatia, Greece and Ireland were added in 2024, followed by Estonia, Latvia and Slovenia in 2025. Most recently, Vinted launched in Australia in July 2026.
As Vinted can continue to expand or change its services, this timeline will be updated if and when new marketplaces are confirmed.
