Trendsales was a Danish second-hand marketplace that closed in October 2024, after it was acquired by Vinted.
The Trendsales website now directs users towards Vinted; it no longer operates as its own platform.
What Was Trendsales?
Trendsales was the largest second-hand marketplace site in Denmark, and was founded in 2002 in Copenhagen. It then went a restructure in 2013, which is why you may see some sources cite this year as the founding date.
Why Did Trendsales Close?
Vilnius, Lithuania-based Vinted wanted to expand into the Nordic countries, and so acquired Trendsales in 2024 in order to gain a greater hold in the Danish market.
Confusingly, Vinted had already opened in Denmark in 2023, and buying Trendsales allowed the company to add its Danish userbase to their own.
Will Trendsales Re-Open?
Due to Vinted’s strategy of acquiring Trendsales to tap into its customer base in Denmark, it is very unlikely that Trendsales will ever be re-established.
