Is Vinted Available in Canada?

Unfortunately no; Vinted is not currently available to Canadian residents.

If you live in Canada, you may have wondered why Vinted is not accessible to you. The second hand clothing platform, which also offers craft supplies, is increasingly popular in Europe and the US.

So why isn’t it available in Canada?

Vinted’s Exit From Canada

Vinted entered the Canadian market in 2021. The company says that, when they did this, they opened on different technical infrastructure to their usual operation.

This then proved unsustainable, so the platform was shut down in February 2024.

For updates on the situation and to check the status of other countries, you can visit our Vinted availability tracker.

Can Canadians Use Vinted US?

Living in Canada doesn’t give you access to Vinted’s US marketplace. Vinted accounts, addresses and shipping options depend on the countries the platform officially supports, so you can’t use a Canadian address to register on the American marketplace.

Where Can I Buy and Sell Items in Canada Instead?

You have several alternative options for buying and selling second hand clothes and craft items

Poshmark

Poshmark is a Redwood City, California based second-hand selling platform. It is available in Canada and the US only, and allows users to buy and sell clothing, as well as home items. This includes craft supplies.

Depop

Depop is a similar ‘social commerce’ platform that was founded in Italy in 2011, offering fashion and other second hand items. Similar to Poshmark, this includes categories like crafts.

Unlike Vinted, it allows users to buy and sell handmade goods. Vinted only extends this option to Pro sellers, banning it for private individuals.

Starluv

Starluv is a Canadian second hand online marketplace, founded in 2021. It’s based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.

It’s therefore perfect if you want to buy Canadian.

Starluv also operates in the United States and uses AI for its marketplace. Although the site primarily focuses on clothes, users may see some craft items for sale.

eBay Canada

eBay is fairly ubiquitous and well-known as a second hand marketplace

Etsy

Etsy is probably the King of homemade online craft supplies, and is relatively easy to use to both buy and sell.

Facebook Marketplace

You may be able to find good quality second hand items on Facebook marketplace. For crafts and hobbies, dedicated groups can also be a useful place to look.
