Yes, Vinted is available to Spanish residents. The company’s expansion into Spain was its ninth market, and it opened there in 2016.
If you live in Spain, you can sign up to buy and sell a variety of second hand items, such as clothes, electronics and craft supplies.
Can You Buy and Sell on Vinted in Spain?
Yes; Vinted allows Spanish users to both buy and sell a variety of items, just as it does in its 26 other markets.
Just as in other countries, selling on Vinted in Spain is free, and the platform doesn’t charge a fee to sellers. Instead, buyers pay for shipping, as well as a buyer protection fee.
Vinted has a dedicated Spanish website at vinted.es, as well as access through its mobile app.
Can Expats Use Vinted in Spain?
Yes, but with one small hiccup.
Spain is a population relocation destination for people from many different European countries, most notably the UK, Germany, Portugal, France, and Italy.
As these countries all have their own Vinted marketplaces, expats may have previously used the platform and want to continue to do so after they move.
Whilst it is possible for newcomers to access the Spanish app, Vinted doesn’t allow you to change your country, due to currency and other platform complications. This means that you will need to set up a new account on the Spanish marketplace if you are intending to relocate to Spain permanently. You will also need to close your old account.
Temporary Stays in Spain
However, if you only spend part of the year in Spain and don’t intend to buy or sell items on Vinted whilst you are there, you should keep your current account. Vinted does not allow you to have multiple accounts, so you can’t open a second Spanish one on the side.
For short periods away, you can use Holiday Mode for up to 90 days to hide your listings. If you intend to be away for longer than that, you may consider not listing any new items until you get back to your country of residence.
Is Vinted Pro Available in Spain?
Yes, you can use Vinted Pro in Spain if you are engaging in commercial selling, in other words, re-selling items that you’ve bought in order to make a profit.
Unlike private sales on individual accounts, these sales are taxable.
Do not attempt to resell items for profit under your personal account, as Vinted may ban you if they find out.
Keep in mind that Pro accounts have slightly different rules, including a 14 day return framework for buyers.
You can read more about Pro accounts on the Vinted Spain Pro Guide (page opens in Spanish).
Can You Buy From Other Countries on Vinted Spain?
Yes, you can; at the moment, the Spanish platform integrates with several other European countries, such as France, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, and Luxembourg.
Your exact options on the app may change from time to time, however, as Vinted rolls out new tests.
How Does Shipping Work on Vinted Spain?
Vinted Spain offers several integrated delivery options, including Correos, InPost, SEUR, GLS and Vinted Go. International shipping is also available with several connected European Vinted marketplaces.
