Can You Sell Craft Supplies on Vinted?

Yes, you can list craft supplies on Vinted, provided that they comply with Vinted’s rules.

This largely means that they have to be safe (no sharp objects or chemicals). You also can’t sell your own handmade crafts, Etsy-style, unless you are registered as a Vinted Pro seller. If you try this on a personal account, Vinted may regard it as commercial selling and ban you.

For personal accounts, the idea behind Vinted letting you sell craft items is to get rid of your unused or surplus items.

Types of Craft Supplies You May Find on Vinted

Looking at the some of the current Arts & Crafts listings returns things like:

Should You List Supplies Individually or as a Bundle?

If your items are small, you may be better off bundling them, so that you can make a better margin.

Vinted currently lets you sell up to 5 items per set.

What Information Should Your Listing Include?

  • A clear title
  • The condition of the item
  • The contents (list everything)
  • Materials and measurements (eg, the type of yarn and the weight)

What Craft Supplies Can’t You Sell?

On Vinted, you can’t sell:

  • Homemade craft items (unless you have a Pro account)
  • Sharp items like scissors, knives, or needles
  • Opened liquids and chemicals (such as paints, varnishes, inks, or sealants)
  • Items which infringe on the intellectual property of others. For instance, you couldn’t sell a Coca-Cola themed embroidery set unless this was an officially licensed product from the company

Be careful with craft sets if they include objects such as needles. These are also not allowed and can be flagged by Vinted.

Knitting needles appear to be allowed at the time of writing, but you should always double check in order to avoid getting caught out if the rules ever change.

Also, just to be safe, double check the rules on your country-specific Vinted site. The company is based in Lithuania and operates across 27 countries as of August 2026, across Europe as well as the United States.

Australia is the latest country to get access to Vinted, with the marketplace officially opening on 1st July 2026.

When Might Donating Be Better?

If your item is very cheap, you might want to just donate it instead, if doing so is appropriate. You are better off doing this if your item likely won’t be sold for enough money to justify the time it takes to take photos, respond to queries from buyers, and deal with postage and packaging.

Also, although it may go without saying, you are better off disposing of an item if it’s in poor condition, rather than unleashing it on the marketplace. No-one likely wants your half-used notebook where you’ve torn out half the pages!
