By keeping patient and working slowly, beginners to cross stitch can learn to decipher and follow a key.
However, if you are brand new to the hobby and find the key and chart too overwhelming to follow, you may consider opting for a stamped cross stitch kit instead. This has the patterns printed on the fabric, rather than requiring you to follow a chart.
